📣 ANNOUNCEMENTS

The QCAP Space Is Closed for the Summer!

The QCAP Community Space in Powdermaker Hall 251 is currently closed for the summer and will reopen in the fall! We have plans to make our space even cuter and cozier, so follow us on Instagram @qcap.queens and be on the lookout for announcements about our Fall 2025 open hours and events!

Take an AACS Course in the Fall!

Attention, QC undergrads! Need to fulfill a Pathways W or Flexible Core course requirement, but want to take a class that’s actually engaging and relevant to your life and these times? Interested in learning more about the histories, cultures, and politics of Asian and Pacific Islander communities (with roots in Central, East, South, Southeast, and West Asia and the Pacific Islands, and including Asian diasporas like Indo-Caribbeans)? Then register now for an Asian American Community Studies (AACS) class in the fall!

AACS (pronounced “aches”) is also a minor! The AACS Minor is only 18 credits, offers exciting research and service-learning opportunities, and is open to students from all majors who want to pursue careers in the arts, business, education, government, healthcare, international affairs, the law, nonprofits, social services, and more! Learn more about the AACS Minor on their website, and email [email protected] with any questions.

QCAP RECAP

AAPI Heritage Month Celebration with QCAP x AACS (May 5)

QCAP team celebrating AAPI Heritage Month

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our May AAPI Heritage Month Celebration, featuring keychain-making, a photobooth, and lots of fun! This event helped us celebrate our cultures and communities through crafting and enjoying yummy eats like falafel, kimbap, and buns from local Asian eateries in Queens. Congrats again to our AAPI graduates and all QC grads, and shoutout to Legend House DIY for assembling the keychain kits that made this event such a fun and meaningful experience!

QCAP End-of-Semester Celebration (May 12)

QCAP wrapped up a very busy spring with an end-of-semester lunch celebrating all the accomplishments of our QCAP Interns, Multilingual Tutors, Student Assistants, and the whole QCAP Team! After listening to our amazing students present and share about their experiences this past semester, we had a bittersweet moment to honor and bid farewell to two very special members of the QCAP Team who will be moving on this summer—Sal, one of our very first QCAP Student Assistants, and Annabelle, our QCAP Program Coordinator extraordinaire. We are going to miss them so much but are also so excited for their next chapters! We will always be rooting for you, Sal and Annabelle! Once QCAP, always QCAP!
